Come play ukulele in St Albans!
We had good fun on our second sing and strumalong on Easter Sunday, Sunday April 11 2012 with our ranks swelled to over 30!
Now we’re working on getting together some great new songs to play for next time and add to our songbook – COMING VERY SOON – so you can begin practising.
NEXT TIME: 13th May 7.00pm.
VerPlayers is open to all; beginners to experts! and we meet on the Second Sunday every month, in the Rose & Crown pub, 10 St Michael’s Street, St Albans AL3 4SG
It’s very near Verulamium Park and close to the banks of the River Ver – it’s historic – why there’s probably been people crooning and strumming’ things with strings on this very spot for at least 2000 years!
NEW – PRACTISE SESSION 12th May
If you fancy performing over the summer, we will be holding a practise session for the better players in the back-room at The Courtyard Cafe (11 Hatfield Road) on Sat 12 May 4-5pm.
Let us know you are coming, so we know numbers, and we can send you our new songbook so you can start practising, but don’t worry – some songs are easy – a few a bit harder, and we can help show you what to do on the night! Just email Katie and she can send you a copy: kgallagher1(insert the @ symbol)btinternet.com
If you need an instrument, new strings, advice go to: The Music Dept, 67 London Road, St Albans: www.themusicdept.com
