Hollesley Ukulele Jamboree 2015 – 24 to 27 July

This is run by the people off the Ukulele Cosmos Forum.
It is a camping weekend where they take over Run Cottage campsite in Hollesley, Norfolk.
It’s a very relaxed weekend, sitting around and playing uke with others, or performing at either the open mic or no mic open mic.
Generally it takes the following format.
Friday night. Open mic.
Saturday. No mic open mic. as it suggests it’s an open mic, without the mic, allowing people to perform in front of an appreciative audience. This generally runs through the whole weekend. Tag line for this is ‘You play, We clap’
Saturday night is performance night. There has been no announcement of whom the acts will be but we have had Yan Yalego in previous years, last year was Nigel Burch and the Flea Pit Orchestra, along with Phil Doleman and other Cosmonauts.
Sunday is a continuation of the No Mic open mic, some people going across the ferry ta Bawdsy to the pub for lunch, the evening is a strum along.
Saturday and Sunday evening the camp site runs a BBQ and Bar.
The weekend is very relaxed with small groups forming, playing together and then moving on.
Cost last year was £10 for the festival. Campsite was extra, booked and paid for to Run Cottage.
